BIO
I am a Research Associate in Paediatric Infectious Diseases at Imperial College London. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at De Montfort University in 2014, and obtained a PhD in Molecular Microbiology in 2019. I have been working at Imperial College since 2020. My research in the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Research Group focuses on the clinical translation of biomarkers in children’s infectious and inflammatory illnesses. My main focus is the differentiation of bacterial and viral infection – to allow the reduction of antibiotic prescription. My work involves creating novel rapid and affordable tests suitable for point-of-care use in low-resource settings.
My research interests encompass various diagnostic technologies, especially those suitable for point-of-care, and the mitigation of antibiotic resistance through diagnostics.
