MrsRakhee Parmar

Rakhee Parmar is Engagement Co-ordinator and Executive Assistant to Professor Alison Holmes OBE, Director of the Fleming Initiative, an exciting new partnership between Imperial College London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The Fleming Initiative, offers an innovative approach to the challenge of AMR – combining research, behaviour change, public engagement, and policy to provide real-world solutions that work to protect the health security of local populations around the world. 

Previously, at Imperial she was Administration and Education Co-ordinator at the NIHR National Institute of Health Research Health Protection Research Unit in Healthcare Associated Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance, a partnership between Imperial College London, Public Health England, Warwick University, Cambridge University and Imperial College Health Partners. The Unit ran across two commissions from  01 April 2014 -31 October 2025.

In her role at the HPRU she supported the development of public and patient engagement resources and co-ordinated the Unit's activities at events, including the annual Great Exhibition Road Festival, Imperial Lates and the Science Museum. In 2024 she was part of the team that was recognised in the Imperial President's award in excellence for societal engagement.

 
Rakhee is a graduate of Applied Language Studies where she specialised in German and Spanish at the University of West London with placements at the Universidad de Sevilla and Philips Universitaet, Marburg.
