I qualified in medicine and surgery from "Federico II" University in Naples and completed 5 years Public Health Training in May 2015. I joined the Department of Primary Care and Public Health at the Imperial College School of Public Health as visiting researcher in 2013 and registered for a PhD there in December 2015. My PhD focuses on evaluating current national strategies for detection and clinical management of individuals considered at high risk of type 2 diabetes.

Before starting the PhD I have been involved in a number of research projects with the Department of Primary Care and Public Health, mainly on chronic disease epidemiology and public health policy evaluation. Examples of recent projects completed are: assessing the impact of the Great Economic Recession on cost-sharing healthcare policies in Europe, and the association of multimorbidity and health status and healthcare utilisation in elderly people in Europe.

I support a number of projects funded by NIHR CLAHRC to evaluate public health interventions in North West London. My main role is to support projects at all stages, from refinement of research questions, study design, analytic approaches and critical revision of outputs.

I am Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at the Department of Public Health of the "Federico II" University in Naples (IT) and have been supporting the departmental research mainly providing epidemiological support. I have been involved in projects in collaboration with the Department of Neuroscience, exploring the role of cardiovascular and inflammatory risk factors, as well as smoking habits, as early predictors of neurological impairment. Recently, I have also been involved in the study design, data analysis and reporting of an epidemiological study assessing the quality of life and early predictors of migrants' health in Italy. The study was commissioned by the Italian National Institute of Health (Istituto Superiore di Sanitá) to the Italian Read Cross Institute (IFRC).
