DrRutendo Muzambi

Rutendo Muzambi is an epidemiologist and Wellcome Trust Fellow at Imperial College London currently investigating infections, long-term antibiotic use and vaccination in sickle cell. Previously, she was working with the NHS Race and Health Observatory on the comparative report exploring inequalities in sickle cell compared with cystic fibrosis and haemophilia. Rutendo has a vast experience of using large-scale routinely collected electronic health records in the UK. She holds a Master of Pharmacy degree, underpinned by several years of professional experience working as a pharmacist, and a masters in Epidemiology at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. In 2018, Rutendo undertook a PhD in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), during which she investigated the association between common infections and dementia. Her first post-doctoral research at LSHTM focused on inequalities in statin use for the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease.
