BIO

Dr Rasha Mezher-Sikafi is the Professional Identity and Behaviour Lead at Imperial College School of Medicine. She is also the Deputy Head of Tutoring (Clinical) for Phase One Medicine.

Her role as a Senior Teaching Fellow within the School of Public Health involves leading a team designing, delivering and assessing the Professional Values and Behaviour curriculum through Phase 1 to 3 of the undergraduate medicine degree (MBBS).

As a member of senior leadership within the Academic tutoring team, she works closely with the Head of Academic Tutoring to train and support Academic tutors within Phase one. With a specific focus on preparing students to learn in clinical practise.

Biography
Dr Mezher-Sikafi studied medicine at The University of Leeds, graduating with Honours in 2009. She completed foundation training in the East of England Deanery and GP vocational training in North West London.

Dr Mezher-Sikafi joined Imperial College School of Medicine as a GP Tutor in 2017. She has taken part in teaching under multiple domains, including Clinical Communication Skills, Clinical Anatomy Skills and Professional Values and Behaviours. She has also examined year 5 and 6 PACES and interviewed prospective medical students.

Dr Mezher-Sikafi is also an advocate of the widening participation programme, welcoming medical students on the WATCCH programme to join her at her GP practice. She has also spoken to prospective students at taster events for the Pathway to Medicine programme.

Her main role at Imperial College School of Medicine is currently as the lead for Professional Identity and Behaviours, which is part of the Professional Values and Behaviours Domain. She is also an academic tutor providing pastoral support for medical students in Phase 1.

She is also part of the leadership of the Academic Tutoring team, as the Deputy Head of Tutoring (Clinical) for Phase One Medicine. Within this role she has oversight of Phase 1c Academic tutoring and the Schwartz round delivery in Phase one.

In additional to her work at Imperial, Dr Mezher-Sikafi holds the position of Communication and Social Media Lead for the UK Council for Educators of Medical Professionalism. In 2026, she completed her MEd in ULT at Imperial with her research focussing on tutor experiences of teaching difficult topics and managing challenging situations within small group teaching sessions in Undergraduate Medical Education. She is passionate about supporting teachers to develop their teaching skills and introduced the annual PVB teacher training in 2023. In 2022 she joined the Higher Education Academy as a Fellow. 

 

Dr Mezher-Sikafi is currently the external examiner for Hull York medical School for their MB BS Phase I & II Health, Society and Professionalism course. 

Clinically, Dr Mezher-Sikafi works as a portfolio GP within London. Outside of work she is a keen baker, enjoying discovering new recipes and spending time with her family outdoors.
