RESEARCH
Overview
My research area is biomechanics, with focus on:
Glaucoma, including studies of aqueous humour drainage and optic nerve head biomechanics
Mechanobiology of Osteoarthritis
Flow in the cardiovascular system; relationship between hemodynamics and arterial disease
Cellular biomechanics
View an image showing some of the tissues that are important in glaucoma. We study the lamina cribrosa and the trabecular meshwork/inner wall of Schlemm's canal.
Please follow this link to learn more about my research om osteoarthritis.
View an image showing computed flow and wall shear stress patterns in a mouse aorta and a human aorta. The mouse is a widely used model for studying arterial disease in humans, yet surprisingly its blood flow patterns are different than those in the human.
