BIO

Ranan DasGupta qualified in Medicine from Cambridge University, followed by surgical training in London, including an MD thesis in Neuro-Urology, studying brain control of voiding dysfunction at UCL. Published studies of cannabinoids, botulinum toxin and sacral nerve stimulation. With fellowships in USC (Los Angeles), Duke University and Visiting Professorshp at Cleveland Clinic Ohio, he was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare, with a subspecialist interest in Endourology.

He serves as a Clinical Professor of Urology at Northwestern University, Chicago, and been appointed as Professor of Practice (Endourology and Technology) at Imperial College.

Having served as Research Chair for the global Societe Internationale d'Urologie, and elected as Executive Board member (2022-2025) he has served as faculty on numerous international panels, including demonstration of live surgery and the elected congress chair for the global SIU annual meeting 2025 in Edinburgh. He has been invited faculty for the American Urology Assoication, European Association of Urology, Endourology Society and the International Continence Society, as well as several national societies.

After appointment as Sergeant-Surgeon to the Royal Medical Household of King Charles III in 2023, he has also been honoured as Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO) in the King's Birthday Honours List 2025, and serves as Trustee for King Charles III Charitable Fund.
