Pronouns: they/them
I am a Teaching Fellow in Geophysics and Quantitative Geoscience within the Department of Earth Science and Engineering. I teach a range of undergraduate courses in geophysics, mathematics and allied subjects. This includes the Cyprus field trip and associated data processing, and the third year independent geophysics projects.
My PhD was in earthquake mechanics and statistics. In my PhD I asked two main questions. At the single event scale, what processes go on in the earliest stages of rupture, and do they depend on magnitude? At a large scale, what processes cause earthquakes to occur when they do, and can foreshocks give insights into earthquake nucleation? To address these I used global records of earthquakes to undertake statistical analysis. I completed my PhD in Summer 2025.
