BIO
As Deputy Director (Careers Service) I'm responsible for the operational running of the service and the development and implementation of strategy.
Our purpose in the Careers Service is to use our specialist expertise and data insights to enable students and graduates to transition into positive and fulfilling futures that align with their personal goals, values, and aspirations.
We aim to provide a welcoming and inclusive service through a range of resources, interactive presentations, group workshops and individual appointments. We also collaborate with a range of employers and external opportunity providers to promote internships, employment and further study options for our students.
I manage our team of career consultants who assist in enhancing the employability and professional development of our students across all levels of study and for up to three years after graduation. The team deliver central events and projects on an annual basis and each consultant is aligned to several academic departments; I myself support the departments of Computing and Earth Science and Engineering.
In partnership with our academic colleagues we can deliver bespoke careers and professional development sessions tailored for your needs as ad hoc events or embedded within the curriculum. These may focus on traditional careers work such as CV writing and interview preparation or contemporary approaches including team working skills, conflict resolution and communication training. Our aim is to help our students to be self-reflective, informed and impactful.
If you'd like to find out more about us please visit the Careers Service or to explore collaboration with your department you can contact your careers consultant or email careers@imperial.ac.uk.
In addition, I strongly support continued professional development (CPD) and have recently completed a masters level Executive Development Programme and a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 7 Award in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice with Chartered Management (CMgr) status. I am also currently enrolled on Data Analyst programme due to complete in 2026.
