DrRhianna Francesca Baldi

I obtained my PhD in Clinical Medicine Research from the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College, where I researched TNF-receptor driven mechanisms of acute lung injury, with a particular focus on ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI). After graduating, I remained in the Division of APMIC (Anaesthetics, Pain Medicine and Intensive Care) to work as a postdoctoral research associate for a further 3 years, researching the pleural cavity as a novel site of inflammation during VILI.

I am currently a postdoctoral research associate in the Snelgrove laboratory group in the Section of Inflammation & Repair at the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI). My current research focuses on how bioactive fragments of the extracellular matrix (ECM) may drive mechanisms of epithelial repair following acute and chronic lung injury.
