DrRinad Bakhti

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Public Health, Imperial College London, and part of the scientific team leading the National University of Singapore (NUS) – Pandemic Readiness, Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PRIME) Lancet Commission. I also contribute to the development of the George Institute for Global Health UK’s strategy on Health in Humanitarian Settings, with a focus on non-communicable diseases in low- and middle-income counties. Additionally, I support work on the All-Party Parliamentary Group report addressing the UK’s contribution to health globally across the commercial, public, not-for-profit and academic sectors. 

Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial’s Department of Brain Sciences and part of the Multimorbidity and Mental Health Theme at NIHR’s Applied Research Collaboration Northwest London, exploring health inequalities, young people’s mental health, and digital mental health interventions. I hold a PhD in psychology and previously held a research post at Queen Mary University of London, focusing on refugee wellbeing and humanitarian health. I earned my undergraduate and master’s degrees from the American University of Beirut. I currently serve on the editorial board of BMJ Public Health and Journal of Migration and Health.
