BIO

Nia is Research Associate in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health. She is currently participating in the CHARIOT:PRO study; an Imperial global eHealth Unit and Janssen Pharmaceuticals collaboration on the collection, validation and analysis of data aiming in the identification of early signs of cognitive decline. She is a paleopathologist with epidemiology training and is specialised in health and disease patterns in Asia and Europe focusing on the influence of socioeconomic and gender roles from the ancient times to the modern period. She has worked in a number of research posts, among others at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology, the Department of Medicine, Kitasato University in Japan, as well as at the Department of Anthropology at University of California, Berkeley.
