MrPablo Prieto

I’m a PhD candidate in Neurotechnology at Imperial College London in Dr. Parastoo Hashemi’s lab, specializing in experimental serotonin signalling and computational modelling of serotonin neurotransmission to better understand how serotonin changes in depression. My work bridges hands-on and in-silico approaches, combining techniques like fast-scan cyclic voltammetry and tissue-culture engineering with mechanistic computational models.

I hold a distinction-level MSc in Neurotechnology and a First Class BEng in Biomedical Engineering. Prior to my PhD, my research focused on medical imaging of fetal development: fetal fMRI as part of the dHCP project, and AI approaches for fetal ultrasound. My current and previous work has been presented at conferences such as the Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM), the International Society for Serotonin Research (ISSR), and the Bioelectrochemical Society (BES).
