Vasin Vasikasin (Paul) is an assistant professor and consultant in infectious diseases at Phramongkutklao Hospital and Phramongkutklao College of Medicine, Thailand. He also serves as a senior military physician in the Royal Thai Army. His expertise lies in clinical research across various infectious diseases, including observational studies and randomised clinical trials focusing on treatments for dengue and multidrug-resistant organisms.

In 2019, he was awarded a PhD scholarship by Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. He began his PhD in 2021 at the National Institute of Health Research Health Protection Research Unit (NIHR HPRU) in Healthcare-Associated Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance and the Centre for Antimicrobial Optimisation at Imperial College London. Under the supervision of Professors Alison Holmes and Dr Timothy Miles Rawson, his research focused on precision prescribing, particularly optimising carbapenem use and managing resistant Gram-negative infections. He completed his PhD in 2024.

Currently, he is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Department of Infectious Disease, Faculty of Medicine, at Imperial College London. His ongoing research in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) includes AI-driven real-time AMR prediction in hospitals, the development of lateral flow assays for point-of-care serum antimicrobial measurement, clinical studies evaluating treatment regimens for AMR, and research on fungal AMR infections. Additionally, he is involved in a clinical trial investigating treatment options for dengue.
