Dr Pauline Paterson is a Research Associate in the Public Perception of the Co-Benefits of Climate Action. Pauline is researching public perceptions of the co-benefits of climate action in the UK, exploring which co-benefits resonate most with members of the public and how this varies among different demographic groups. This mixed methods study is funded by the Place-based Climate Action Network (PCAN). Pauline joined the Grantham Institute in June 2022.
Pauline hold’s a joint appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), UK. Pauline has been researching issues of public confidence in immunisations since 2010. Pauline is a member of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Protection Research Unit in Vaccines and Immunisation, and has an honorary academic contract with UK Health Security Agency. Pauline has been researching public perceptions around climate change globally since 2020.
Pauline has a PhD in Epidemiology, MBA and MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London. Her MBA project consisted of two systematic reviews and a case study in Thailand, in collaboration with WHO, exploring health system preparedness to changes in malaria and dengue fever epidemiology as a result of climate change.
