MrPasha Normahani

Mr Pasha Normahani is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He previously held an NIHR Academic Clinical Lectureship in Vascular Surgery at Imperial College London and completed his higher surgical training within the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust network.

He graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine (MBBS, 2012), is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS), and holds a BSc (Hons) in Surgery and Anaesthesia and an MSc in Surgical Science (Distinction), for which he was awarded the Imperial College Dean’s Prize. Following an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship, he undertook a PhD at Imperial, focusing on diagnostic devices and machine learning applications in peripheral arterial disease (PAD). His doctoral research led to a patent filing and secured nearly £1 million in competitive research funding, including leading the NIHR HTA-funded multi-centre DMPAD diagnostic accuracy study.

Mr Normahani's translational research interests include diagnostic technology, digital health, artificial intelligence, and clinical trials in PAD. He has secured over £3.7 million in competitive research funding as a lead or co-applicant, and is currently involved in multiple NIHR-funded clinical trials investigating diagnostics and treatments for PAD.

Alongside his research, Pasha has held multiple innovation-focused fellowships, including the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Fellowship, NIHR/Zinc Innovation Fellowship, UKRI/MedTech Superconnector Fellowship, and the Wellcome Trust/Hamlyn Accelerator for Surgical Innovation Fellowship. He also holds an MBA from Imperial College Business School.

Pasha has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications (h-index: 17; citations: >1200) and regularly presents his work internationally.
