RESEARCH
I am interested in the complex relationships between plants and microbes. These relationships have formed the foundation for extensive research into plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB), and how they can be developed into biofertilizers. By using PGPB, we open the possibilities to economically and environmentally sustainable alternatives to chemical fertilizers. In addition, there presents an opportunity to explore microbial based herbicides, pesticides and fungicides with far less environmental impacts.
My current works seeks to identify characteristics within soil microbiomes that help mitigate fungal pathogens that affect cereal crops in UK.
