BIO

Phil began his career in the travel industry, working as a holiday representative across five European countries. In his early twenties, he returned to London and transitioned into finance, holding roles at both Barclays and the Royal Bank of Scotland. After the 2009 financial crisis, he seized the opportunity to combine his professional skills with his passion for travel and cultural exchange by relocating to Asia, where he joined a boutique financial advisory firm. Over the next 12 years, he lived and worked in Thailand, Mongolia, and Hong Kong.

While in Hong Kong, Phil began volunteering as a fundraiser for an LGBT+ charity as a way to expand his local network. What started as a strategic move quickly grew into a deep personal commitment, eventually contributing to the development of Asia’s largest LGBT+ charity.

Upon returning to the UK in 2020, Phil chose to leave the corporate finance sector to focus fully on fundraising. Since then, he has undertaken several fixed-term fundraising roles with organisations such as The Carers Trust, The King’s Foundation, and Future Youth Zone (part of the OnSide network).

In his spare time, Phil still loves to travel, go to the theatre, cooking, and gardening.
