DrPushpa Hossain

Pushpa Hossain is a PhD candidate in Public Health at Imperial College London and a Graduate Teaching Assistant, contributing to postgraduate teaching, assessment, and student support. Her work spans global health research, policy, and education, with a strong focus on health equity, vulnerable populations, and the translation of evidence into real-world impact.

She holds an MBBCh and a Master of Public Health with Distinction and brings interdisciplinary experience across academic research, health policy, charity leadership, and research consultancy. Pushpa has worked across diverse health systems in the US, Middle-East, South Asia, Europe and UK, leading and contributing to multinational research projects that address complex public health challenges, including access to care, patient safety, rare diseases, and maternal and child health.

Prior to her doctoral studies, Pushpa held senior roles in research consultancy and the charitable sector, where she led real-world evidence generation, patient engagement initiatives, and policy-facing research. Her leadership work included coordinating multidisciplinary teams, securing and managing funding, and working closely with patients, clinicians, policymakers, and international stakeholders to ensure research outputs were relevant, inclusive, and actionable. Through her work with charities, she played a key role in amplifying patient and community voices, particularly among under-represented and vulnerable groups.
