Pelin Demirel is a Reader (Associate Professor) in Innovation and Sustainability, and the Director of Inclusive Practice at the Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London.
Pelin’s research and teaching focus on innovation and entrepreneurship with a particular emphasis on sustainability. Investigating the potential of innovations and entrepreneurship for a more sustainable and inclusive society motivates her most recent research projects. She is one of the Future Leaders at The Foundation for Science and Technology (2021 cohort) and her research is funded by various bodies including Leverhulme Trust, ESRC, EPSRC, MRC and British Academy. Pelin is currently a guest editor of the British Journal of Management's Special issue Unpacking Circular Economy Capabilities for a Pathway to Net Zero, Eurasian Business Review's Special Issue Innovation for the Green Transition, and Industry and Innovation's Special Issue Entrepreneurial Ecosystems and the Quest for Sustainable Transitions.
Pelin is Imperial College's academic lead for London Interdisciplinary Social Science (LISS) Doctoral Training Partnership Research Area 2: Business Analytics, Management and Applied Economics
