I am Consultant Cardiologist with academic training in public health and a strong record of delivering large-scale, system change in cardiovascular prevention. I currently serve as Clinical Lead for Clinical Effectiveness at the North West London Integrated Care Board (NWL ICB), which has become the highest-performing ICB nationally for blood pressure treatment during my time. I have led pilot service design for a joint cardio-renal-metabolic preventative pathway in Harrow, which is now being rolled out across North West London.

I have academic expertise in public health epidemiology and biostatistics as well as national and international policy experience at the World Health Organisation and the King’s Fund. My research track record in prevention of non-communicable disease has led to publications spanning more than 8.2K citations in leading journals. 

My key interests lie in identifying groups of people who are not usually studied - e.g . patients with out-of-hospital myocardial infarction, people with undiagnosed hypertension - in order to see the full picture. My research focuses on geographical variations in disease outcomes at population level. I use national-level, administrative datasets with linkage to look at patterns of variation after correcting for noise. The analyses are frequently undertaken in a Bayesian spatial framework so as to explicitly quantify the certainty of estimates.

I am strongly committed to developing people and teams and actively involved in mentoring and education. I serve as faculty for the British Society of Echocardiography, have taught on Imperial College MSc in Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning and on the BSc in Cardiovascular Science and regularly deliver updates and webinars to primary care teams across North West London
