BIO

Professor Panagiotis Angeloudis is Professor of Transport Systems & Logistics in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London, where he directs the Transport Systems & Logistics (TSL) Laboratory.

His research focuses on the design, optimisation and control of autonomous transport systems, examining how autonomous agents coordinate within complex fleets and interact with people and infrastructure across different transport modes and scales.

His group develops models, algorithms and simulation environments to study these systems, drawing on multi-agent modelling, optimisation, machine learning and network theory. Applications range from autonomous road and mining fleets to drones, freight and maritime logistics, passenger transportation and infrastructure operations. Particular emphasis is placed on safety, operational performance, operating costs and the practical challenges of technology deployment.

Alongside his academic research, he has advised governments, public agencies and industrial partners internationally on transport infrastructure, logistics operations and emerging technologies.

At Imperial, he leads a research group of over 15 researchers and manages a portfolio of projects supported by EPSRC, Innovate UK, government bodies and industry.
