BIO

I am passionate about developing and applying statistical and machine learning methods to tackle the grand challenges in society, global health research, and support underserved populations.

My experience and research lie in statistical machine learning, Bayesian statistics, infectious disease modelling, child health, cardiovascular diseases, phylodynamics, non-parametric statistics, probabilistic computing languages, survey and sampling methods, human mobility and behaviour, and extreme weather modelling.

I co-founded the Global Reference Group for Children in Crisis (https://crisiscareforchildren.com) and the Machine Learning and Global Health network (https://mlgh.net). I co-led the PANGEA HIV consortium (https://www.pangea-hiv.org), and am co- investigator and principal statistician on several studies of the Rakai Health Sciences Program (https://www.rhsp.org/index.php).

My group currently includes one research fellow, several research assistants, one PhD student, research students, and we frequently host international visitors. We are curious, diverse, and dynamic. We always look for people who want to grow with us, and are here to support young talents – get in touch.
