BIO
Ozge Demirci is an Assistant Professor at Imperial College London Business School. Prior to joining Imperial, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Business School. She earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick.
Ozge’s research focuses on the economics of digitization, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, and digital platforms. She is particularly interested in how emerging digital technologies, such as Generative AI, influence the behavior of consumers and firms. Her work also explores the relationship between technology and discrimination, investigating how removing sensitive information from algorithms affects fairness in outcomes. To address these questions, Ozge applies econometrics, causal inference, and machine learning methods, using quasi-experimental designs.
Her research has been nominated for and received several awards, including the John A. Howard/AMA Doctoral Dissertation Award, the American Statistical Association Dissertation Award, the CESifo Distinguished Affiliate Award, and the Emerging Scholar Award in Discrimination and Diversity.
