BIO

Oswald is currently an NIHR Pre-doctoral Fellow at the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU). He is currently studying the MSc in Statistics for Clinical Trials at UCL, and in the 2nd year of his fellowship will be conducting a systematic review of Bayesian clinical trial design and analysis in Phase II/Proof-of-concept studies. This will be used to identify gaps in current Bayesian trial methodologies for further research at PhD level.

Oswald completed a placement year during his BSc with the biopharmaceutical company UCB in the Early Development Statistics department and worked part-time in their Statistical Innovation team. Here, he was part of the development team for an R Shiny tool that facilitated the use of Bayesian/hybrid Bayesian-frequentist methods. He undertook a research project into the tool’s underlying methodology, focusing on its application to survival endpoints.
