BIO

Dr Natasha Singh is a Consultant Obstetrician at the Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust and a Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. Her research interests are preterm birth, gestational diabetes and translational research.

She was awarded her MD(res) under the supervision of Professor Mark Johnson at Imperial College London titled ' Definition of the Myometrial Transcriptome and Proteome of Preterm Labour of known and unknown aetiologies versus Term Labour: Elucidation of Common vs. Distinct Regulatory Pathways' in 2017. Her work resulted in numerous peer review publications highlighting the importance of studying both term and preterm labour in distinct phenotypes across each reproductive compartment. Her expertise in translational research had led to the design of clinical drug trials such as ' Progesterone and Aminophylline for the Prevention of Preterm Labour (PROGRAM)' (NCT03152942).

She had over 10 years of experience in caring for pregnant women with Gestational Diabetes and currently leads a team whose research is focused on studying the underlying mechanistic pathways that underpin the transgenerational impact of gestational diabetes. She is the Chief Investigator for 'An observational nested multicenter cohort study of early versus late monitoring among pregnant women with a history of gestational diabetes' which commenced recruitment in November 2023 and is currently recruiting across 10 UK sites.

Dr Singh has served as Service Director and Clinical Director at the Chelsea and Westminster Trust and is now the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor to Trust Board with a focus on reducing unwanted variation and addressing population health inequalities. She has also recently been appointed research inclusion lead for NIHR NWL ARC.
