BIO
Dr. Navid Hosseini is an experienced civil engineer with an extensive background in rock mechanics and underground hydrology. He has successful record of both scientific and industrial research projects in the UK, Canada, and Iran. His research experiences focus on groundwater modeling in formations containing fractures or faults and developing programs based on the Finite Element Method.
He received his PhD from Sharif University of Technology (Iran) and then completed a two-year postdoc at the University of Calgary, working on computational modeling of micro-seismic events in the formations located in Alberta, Canada. He is now part of the SeisGreen project at Imperial College, a large multi-institutional project that seeks to understand the hydro-mechanics of fluid-induced seismicity.
