BIO
Norbert holds degrees in physics, mechanical engineering and economics from the universities Erlangen-Nürnberg, Bayreuth, Stuttgart and Hagen. He worked in industry before joining Hamburg University of Technology. He was Professor of Machine Dynamics in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial and Director of the Imperial College based Rolls-Royce Vibration University Technology Centre. His main research interests are in nonlinear waves and vibrations, data and learning based approaches to complex nonlinear dynamics, and in highly efficient computing methods for physics and engineering.
