BIO

Monil is a post CCT Lower Limb Arthroplasty fellow at North Shore Hospital, Auckland. He completed his specialist registrar training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery on the North West Thames rotation. He is an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at the MSk Lab.

He qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2014 and was awarded Distinctions in Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences and Clinical Practice. In addition, he completed an Intercalated BSc in Surgery and Anaesthesia obtaining a first class honours degree and secured a competitive Academic Foundation Programme. He was subsequently awarded an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery during which time he obtained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons. He was awarded a Dean's Masters Scholarship at Imperial College London enabling him to complete a MSc in Health Policy graduating with a merit, completing a dissertation evaluating the clinical and cost utility of short stem hip replacements. He was awarded the FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2024.

He is in the final stages of a PhD at Imperial College London supervised by Professor Justin Cobb working with the MSk lab and the Biomechanics Research Group. His research evaluates techniques and technologies to maximise implant stability whilst minimising fracture risk in hip arthroplasty.
