BIO

PhD student working on Jack Devlin's Quantum Enhanced Particle Astrophysics (QuEPA) project.

Working on building and using an electron Penning trap as one part of a detector for axion dark matter.

In the presence of a strong magnetic field, axions can transform into microwave photons. These photons can then be detected through excitation of the cyclotron motion of an electron in a Penning trap, which serves as a single-photon counter.
