BIO
Marco is a product manager, designer, and researcher at the Wellbeing Technologies Lab. He runs research and design experiments on whether and how generative AI can scale chronic condition care while respecting human needs in caregiving, and leads the design of Conversational Care, an automated care system that provides a platform for care teams and AI agents to improve continuity of care.
With the UK Dementia Research Institute (CR&T Care Research & Technology Centre), he is looking into integrating generative AI into existing design systems and interaction flows, grounded in user research with the CR&T team. As Design Lead for IMPACT Salud, he is developing a dementia screening tool for Latin America, now being implemented with the Peruvian Ministry of Health and used to screen 4,000+ older adults across multiple sites.
Marco brings a background in strategic communication, design, and filmmaking, and a transdisciplinary, cross-cultural approach to designing technology, novel interactions, and research in human-computer interaction, human autonomy, and participatory methods. His work centres on wicked problems.
He holds an MA/MSc in Global Innovation Design from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London. He previously led design projects for global brands in the advertising industry and, in 2021, co-founded a social-impact creative agency. Marco has been recognised as one of Italy's top 100 emerging contemporary designers, was awarded at the 2021 Venice Biennale, and awarded at the Interaction Design Award.
