DrMartin Walker

I am a mathematical epidemiologist with 15 years of experience in infectious disease modelling, parasitology, and global health. I lead a research group that applies mathematical and statistical methods to inform control strategies for tropical and zoonotic diseases. My team contributes to major international research consortia supported by over £26 million in funding from organisations including the Gates Foundation, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trial Partnership (EDCTP) and Wellcome. I have authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Communications and Clinical Infectious Diseases. I hold strategic leadership roles in the Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) Modelling Consortium, the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) Collaborating Centre for Risk Analysis & Modelling, and the London Centre for NTD Research and contribute to advisory groups and data safety committees supporting global disease control efforts. I am also a dedicated educator, teaching and supervising across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with the mission of equipping students with the quantitative and computational skills essential in biomedical and public health careers.
