BIO
Dr Menelaos Tzafetas graduated from the Medical School of University of Thessaly in Greece. He then completed his military service as a General Practitioner in the Greek Armed Forces. Following that he moved to the United Kingdom where he commenced his specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. During his training at Queen Charlottes and Chelsea Hospital he was awarded the "Make a Difference Award" for his contribution to team effort and his exceptional support towards his colleagues and patients. Whilst undergoing his specialist training he developed an interest in research and was awarded a research fellowship by the Imperial College Healthcare Charity. He is currently working as a Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College London.
His current research project is investigating the use of new innovative spectroscopy technologies like the iKnife and DESI and their potential to improve the management of women with abnormalities in cervical screening.
