Dr. Matthew Shun-Shin is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute within Imperial College London, and a Consultant Cardiologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
He primary research focus is developing, applying, and validating machine learning methods (AI) to cardiac imaging. As part of this work he runs an AI-assisted "core-lab" for echocardiography for trials within NHLI.
He has further interests in clinical trial methodology, and is responsible for the analysis of multiple clinical trials within the group (ORBITA, ORBITA2, C19-ACS), and advises on their design.
He also works closely with Dr. Zachery Whinnett, and Dr. Dan Keene on improving implantable cardiac devices and algorithms for optimising pacemaker settings.
