BIO

Martin is a writer, teacher, editor, mentor and musician. He recently completed his novel The Cost of Loving with the generous support of Arts Council England. His short fiction has appeared in publications such as Esquire, New Writing (Picador) and the London Magazine. He has been a Hawthornden Fellow and is a Wingate Scholar. Martin teaches at ICL, City St George’s, University of London, and delivers independent writing courses and mentoring programmes. In the past he has taught Creative Writing for the British Council, Arts Council England, at the University of East Anglia and elsewhere. During the pandemic he volunteered at the Chelsea Community Hospital School, bringing creative writing workshops to young people with mental health issues. For more information, see martinouvry.com.
