BIO
Michela Noseda is Professor of Cardiovascular Science at the National Heart and Lung Institute, where she leads a diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary research programme focused on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of cardiovascular disease, integrating computational, genomic, cellular, and molecular approaches with clinical translational relevance.
She serves as Principal Investigator and co–Principal Investigator on major international consortia, including those funded by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), addressing molecular and cellular mechanisms of heart disease and health. She is also a co-lead of the Heart Biological Network within the wider Human Cell Atlas.
Prof Noseda is Theme Lead (Theme 2: Learning from Heart Disease Patients – Molecular and Genetic Determinants of Adverse Remodelling) and a member of the Executive Board of the BHF Centre of Research Excellence at Imperial (2024-2029). She also serves as Network Lead for the Imperial Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine Network.
An expert in multiomic approaches to cardiovascular disease, Dr Noseda has played a central role in interdisciplinary projects that generated successive releases of the Human Heart Cell Atlas across multiple anatomical regions. Her work has also contributed to paradigm-shifting studies demonstrating that the cellular and molecular architectures driving heart failure and cardiomyopahties are both shared and genotype-specific.
Prof Noseda is a strong advocate of team science and actively welcomes new collaborations and consultancy opportunities.
