Maeve holds a NIHR Transitional Research Fellowship and is an Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Allergy at Imperial College. She also works clinically as a Consultant in Paediatric Allergy at Evelina London Children’s Hospital. She was awarded an MD from University College Cork in 2015 for her work exploring the relationship between skin barrier damage in early life and the development of eczema and food allergy.

Her current research interests are in preventing allergies in children. She leads an international collaboration for an individual patient data meta-analysis to determine if interventions to protect the skin barrier in early infancy can prevent eczema and food allergy.
