BIO
I am a committed champion in the workplace for matters of safety. For a number of years I have represented my colleagues as an official safety representative on behalf of my trade union. This has involved meeting with regulators from the Envirnment Agency, Office of Nuclear Regulation, senior staff at Imperial and independent specialists via Nuclear Safety Committees. I have carried out safety inspections and investigations into incidents and near misses in a variety of workplaces with varied hazards within the nuclear industry. I have over 35 years of front-line experience in the field of radiation protection, providing monitoring services and advice. I feel that my insight from both sides of safety issues gives me a good overall perspective of matters of safety.
I am a member of the Society for Radiation Protection (MSRP) and the Association of University Radiation Protection Officers.
I am a holder of NEBOSH General Certificate.
