BIO

BIOGRAPHY

Michael is a Professor of Geriatric Practice and leads the Cutrale Perioperative & Ageing Group. They focus on using bioengineering tools to reduce risks of surgery and improve the lives of older people. He currently supervises ten doctoral students. 

 

In addition Michael is a consultant physician with a specialist interest in the medical management of older surgical patients. With his team he supervises the medical care of elderly trauma and surgical patients at St Mary's Hospital London. In addition he is chairman of the Specialist Advisory Committee for geriatric medicine, which coordinates the training of over 800 specialists in geriatric medicine across the UK.
