BIO

I am a neuroscientist investigating how neurodegenerative disease progression alters circadian rhythmicity in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN). By utilizing disease models that reproduce the toxic accumulation of tau protein, I examine disruptions at the molecular, network, and behavioral levels.

I obtained my MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Trieste (Italy), where I focused on circadian rhythms in primary microglia cultures in the Brancaccio Lab. During my PhD, I specialized in circadian fluorescent live-imaging of SCN activity, developing novel high-throughput recording techniques and automated circadian analysis methods. My doctoral research characterized the impact of human tau protein accumulation in the SCN on neuronal circadian rhythms.

My research interests include circadian alterations in neurodegenerative diseases, circadian regulation of metabolism, and quantitative methods for time series analysis. For ongoing projects and released analytical tools, please visit my GitHub profile.
