BIO
Michael is a Principal Teaching Fellow in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, working closely with the Undergraduate Primary Care Education Unit (UPCE) and Imperial College School of Medicine (ICSM) in the development and implementation of best practice.
Michael's background is as a Higher Education consultant, an author, and a scholar-activist, with expertise in inclusive pedagogies and health justice, with ongoing PhD research. Michael has received recognition by Advance HE as both a National Teaching Fellow and Principal Teaching Fellow.
Prior to joining Imperial College, Michael worked in Sports & Exercise Therapy across multiple domains, in academia at the University of East London, in elite sport including with British Swimming, and in private MSK clinical practice.
Michael was on the Board of Directors for The Society of Sports Therapists (SST) from 2020-2024, serving as Chair of the Board during 2023.
Michael is an External Examiner and a Board Trustee of the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi) and manages a consultancy specialising in collaborative staff development in areas such as cultural and structural humility, racial literacy, and equity in teaching, assessment, feedback, experience, opportunity and outcomes.
