BIO

I am a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

I joined the Department in 2012 soon after I completed my PhD in the area of applied computational logic and sustainability. I have since been involved in the design and delivery of a number of modules pertaining to computer science, programming, and software engineering.

My current focus is Programming for Engineers, a core module taken by all first year undergraduate students at EEE. I am also the academic organiser for the Group Consultancy Projects that many of our third year students tackle together with our industrial partners. I supervise Final Year Projects mostly related to information systems engineering and applications of LLMs.

I am particularly involved in exploring innovative approaches to teaching (in particular Active Learning) and how pastoral care in a University setting can be more helpful and effective. I also have a particular interest in the impact LLMs and general AI technology have on education, critical thinking, and other social aspects such as the evolution of professional roles in software engineering.
