MsMaite Arribas Ardura

Maite Arribas is a Senior Data Scientist (Digital Health & AI) at the North-West London iCARE Secure Data Environment and the Digital Collaboration Space, Paddington Life Sciences, where she focuses on applying AI and machine learning to improve the clinical and research value of electronic health records. She develops natural language processing pipelines to reduce administrative time spent extracting information from free text and is currently exploring the clinical safety of large language models for automation within hospital workflows.

She recently completed her PhD in Medical Informatics at King’s College London, where she developed predictive models to identify severe mental disorders — including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression — in the general population using NHS electronic health records. Her work sits at the intersection of healthcare and technology, with a particular interest in overcoming barriers to implementation to ensure new digital solutions deliver genuine clinical value.

With an academic background in Natural Sciences, her interests originate from computational neuroscience and the mathematical modelling of brain and behaviour, which continue to inform her data-driven approach to understanding and improving healthcare systems.
