BIO

Dr Mariam Al-Laith joined the MSk Lab in May 2020. She is responsible for all the research portfolio studies and leading industry collaborative multicentre studies, ranging from a number of participating sites, both nationally and internationally

Dr Al-Laith graduated with BSc (Hon) Chemistry and PhD, immunopharmacology from UCL. She started her career in research as Royal Society European Research Fellow and a Post-Doc, in the Department of Pharmacology, Cambridge, before moving into management. Her clinical research career started about 10 years ago, where she was responsible for all aspects of a multicentre double blind, international phase II Clinical Trial in Investigational Medicinal Product (CTIMP) trial in the department of Rheumatology at Kings College London.

Her motivation to deliver successful clinical projects is fuelled by a strong passion for enhancing patient-centricity in clinical research and knowing her work can transform the lives of people suffering from severe disease. She feels that aligning the department vision and values with her own is one way to achieve that.
