TEACHING INTERESTS
2020-present – Head of Interferometry Experiment: Lead co-ordinator and developer of experiment for 1st year undergraduate physics students in Teaching Laboratory. Training and managing of the demonstrator team.
2020-2022 – Computing Laboratory Demonstrator: Instructor in introductory course to programming with Python for 1st year undergraduates.
2017-2020 – Lead Tutor in Undergraduate Physics Classes: Leading workshop style, collaborative problem-solving classes to support 2nd year lecture courses in Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics, Statistical Physics, Solid State Physics and Nuclear & Particle Physics.
2016-present – MSci Project Supervisor: Advisor of Masters students on research thesis projects in Plasma Physics (16 students to date, Jan. 2024).
2016-2017 – MSc Optics Laboratory Demonstrator: Demonstration of advanced Optics experiments for Masters students.
2015-present – Assistant Supervision of PhD students: Supervision of graduate students in PhD projects in Plasma Physics (9 students to date, Jan 2024).
2014-present – Undergraduate Research Opportunities Placement (UROP) Supervisor: Co-ordination, recruitment and supervision of undergraduate students carrying out summer research placements in Plasma Physics (15 students to date, Jan. 2024).
2011-2017 – 1st year Undergraduate Project Supervisor: Supervision of 1st year undergraduates carrying out 6 week open-ended physics projects, culminating in demonstration at open days.
2010-present – Teaching Laboratory Demonstrator: Demonstration and assessment of teaching experiments for 1st and 2nd year undergraduate physics students in topics including Electronics, Optics, Electromagnetic Wave Propagation, Spectroscopy and Thermal Physics.
