BIO
Lily is a PhD candidate in the Environment and Water Resource Engineering Section advised by Dr Po-Heng (Henry) Lee and Prof. Sue Grimes. Her work focuses on understanding how we can utilize data-driven modeling techniques, including classical and quantum machine learning, to optimize the production of bioplastic from wastewater. She was awarded the President's PhD Scholarship to pursue her research. Her key areas of focus include:
- Bioinformatics and multi-omics data integration
- Metabolic modeling of mixed microbial cultures in PHA reactors and anaerobic digesters
- Application of classical and quantum machine learning to elucidate gene expression function and pathways
Prior to Imperial, Lily received her BS (2022) and MS (2023) in Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
