Laura Impallomeni is a trainee counselling psychologist, and psychotherapist. Her interest in psychedelic research began during her undergraduate degree at the University of Sussex, where she co-authored a 2006 study on decision-making and impulsivity in MDMA users, published in Neuropsychopharmacology.

Her doctoral research now examines white supremacy and systemic whiteness within the applied psychologies, reflecting a long-standing commitment to social justice, anti-racist practice, and intersectional theory in clinical work.

As a psychologist at the Centre for Psychedelic Research, Imperial College London, Laura has acted as a therapeutic guide on several clinical trials, including the first-of-its-kind Psilocybin for OCD trial and the Ketamine synaptogenesis trial, both now completed. She also leads Reflective Practice groups for the Centre's PhD researchers and clinical staff, exploring ethics, intersectionality, and anti-racist practice in psychedelic research.

Laura's clinical experience spans inpatient and outpatient NHS settings working with complex psychopathology, including neuropsychiatric rehabilitation, forensic psychology, systemic family therapy in forensic services, long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy, schema therapy within a personality disorders service, and addiction-focused treatment. Her clinical interests centre on psychoanalysis and neuro-psychoanalysis.

Laura is also a professional jazz trombonist and composer.
