BIO

Lorna joined the Imperial Clinical trials Unit (ICTU) in 2022 as a clinical trial statistician where she has been involved in design, planning and analysis of randomised controlled trials. She has worked on trials in several therapeutic areas including infection (MATIS), cadiovascular disease (ZODIAC) and addiction (FORWARDS). She is currently working on the ROMEO trial, a critical care trial evaluating near apnoeic ventilation (NAV) with two sigh breaths per minute after initiation of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) compared to standard care. Lorna is also an advisor in the Imperial & Partners Hub of the NIHR Research Support Service (RSS) where she advises researchers of all career stages on their grant applications and helps to provide mock interviews to those shortlisted.

Lorna is a registered pharmacist and, before joining ICTU, spent 15 years in postmarketing drug safety observational research, where she ran an annual safety surveillance study for the children's flu vaccine in the UK. Lorna also spent three years working in evidence synthesis within the NIHR Techology Assessment Review (TAR) programme.
