BIO

I lead a team of communications professionals who tell Imperial's research stories and help the university to engage with, influence and inspire the public and other key audiences. The team's work regularly results in news articles, features and packages in national and international media outlets, across TV, radio print and online, enhancing the reach and impact of Imperial research.

In 2024, I spent a year as Deputy Director of Communications in a maternity cover role, overseeing all of Imperial's media and social media activities.

The research media team, which I have led for over a decade, cover everything from how bees are increasingly stressed by a changing climate, to the first ever study infecting healthy volunteers with COVID-19, to the amount of ultra-processed food in UK children's diets, to shape-shifting robots. In 2021 we won a President's Award for Excellence in Societal Engagement for our work to promote Imperial's COVID-19 research and we were also shortlisted for a PR Week award for our communications campaign around Imperial's development of a COVID-19 vaccine. To explore some of our work, please visit our news website (www.imperial.ac.uk/news).

If you are a member of Imperial staff with a story to tell, or a member of the media who’s interested in finding out more about research at Imperial, please get in touch. You can find out more about what we do and how we might be able to help you on our News and Media web pages.
