BIO
I am the medical statistician in the Cancer Screening and Prevention Research Group (CSPRG), led by Professor Amanda Cross. I am also a PhD student in the Department of Surgery and Cancer.
I have been with the CSPRG since its establishment in 2008. As the CSPRG’s senior statistician, I lead on statistical analyses, contribute to the management of the group’s studies and trials, and help to plan future research. I am involved in the writing of manuscripts and grants and provide support to the group’s PhD students and research assistant. My research in the group has focused on colorectal cancer screening, surveillance, and diagnosis, where I have worked on the UKFSST, FIT for Follow-Up, SIGGAR, SOCCER, Intermediate Adenomas, and All Adenomas studies. My current PhD research is focussed on reducing colorectal cancer incidence and mortality through screening.
Before joining the CSPRG, I completed an MSc in Medical Statistics at Lancaster University. Prior to that, I worked for four years in respiratory medicine research at the University of Manitoba, Canada, after having completed a BSc in Statistics at the same university.
